From my own clinical experience, I noticed that for some patients helping them with their physical wellbeing was not enough. They also needed guidance with their inner wellbeing.
And so I set out to learn how to help my patients retune their inner dialogue, to approach their lives in a new way. I gained a Certificate of Clinical Hypnosis and have since been helping those who need it to redirect their focus from the inside.
At your first appointment we’ll discuss the areas of your life you wish to improve upon, thereby creating the new dialogue for change and we’ll conduct a hypnotherapy session at that time. This first appointment will typically be a 1 ½ hour session.
Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes and we use these sessions to adjust the dialogue as you progress with your changes according to your individual needs and challenges.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is comprised of two parts –
- Trance which is an altered state of consciousness when the conscious mind is quieted and the subconscious mind is active.
- Presentation of suggestions and acceptance of an idea, emotion or behaviour to create a desired change, influence or outcome.
The frontal lobe of the brain is the gatekeeper to the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is unlocking the gate to access the information and rewrite the script of the mind to create the desired change you are seeking.
The human brain is like the triangle above;
the conscious mind is just the tip of the iceberg!
Will I know what’s happening?
Yes! You are not asleep or unconscious during medical hypnotherapy. You cannot be made to do something you don’t want to do and you will be no more inclined to share your secrets than when you are not undergoing hypnotherapy.
Medical hypnotherapy is not the stage hypnosis seen in variety shows.
